Aerial yoga, also referred to as anti-gravity yoga, shares a of lot similarities with traditional yoga. However, there’s a big difference. When doing an aerial yoga class, the weight of your body will be supported by a hammock so you’ll be suspended in the air!
It has wide ranging benefits, particularly for those with injuries, less flexibilty or back pain. Plus its a huge amount of fun! The support of the hammock can be very liberating for body & mind.
In our Beginner’s Workshop, you’ll find out what Aerial Yoga is all about and why it’s such an incredible way to deepen your yoga practice. You’ll get a chance to experience the magical, healing power of this relatively new discipline.
Here, our aim is to get you feeling confident with the foundations of Aerial Yoga, demonstrating some of the amazing ways we can use the hammock. We will get to grips with using the hammock to support our floor practice, where it can help deepen our postures, getting into areas that can be difficult to access on the floor. We will also begin experiencing the delights of floating in the air, flying and (whispers quietly) even hanging upside down!
Come and hide out in your own cocoon, and reconnect with the playful nature within you!
